Who Are We At Centering Place?

      Hello there, My SL name is  Amaya Summers. You might be wondering who we are at this point. Well in short we are a group of people who have a passion for people and where they may be on their journey. Centering Place itself is designed to provide information to those who need it who are in crisis, or who are struggling with different area's of their lives. It is a place of peace and grounding.

     Centering Place was born in 2006 with a mission to support, and provide resources to those in need free of charge. I started out on my own with a simple 512 sqm plot and grew from there. In late 2006 I teamed up with Specky Zaftig of Support for Healing who also had the same vision to make a difference in peoples lives. To date we no longer work with the Support for Healing and have branched out on our own.

    With a project as big as this it's impossible to do it alone and I wasn't alone by any stretch of the imagination.   It takes so many different resources to pull this off, from investors for a virtual sim to finding and maintaining material to offer.

* Crisis intervention support on a one to one peer support basis and resources, We also have on staff Industria Dowler , Butterfly Foggarty and Amaya Summers who are trained in peer supporting.  We are not professionals but volunteers who are here to listen and there to encourage those who need someone to walk with them through a tough time.

* Web based Resource Directory for RL contacts and support in a wide variety of areas including crisis lines and suicide prevention.

* Will's Pointe, A place to nurture the spiritual side at where can leave prayer requests and pray.

* Peer Support Initiative - for Peer supporters and professionals who support each other in their endeavours and in supporting those in need.

* Peer Support Training (enrolment is periodic based on class scheduling.

* Suicide Prevention and Education - A place you can find someone to talk to if you are in crisis or if you are looking for educational resources and crisis intervention resources.
